Dr. Amy John
Dr Amy John has been practicing well over 10 years. She is trained to meet the unique needs of children, through all of their developmental stages. Additionally, she has specialized training in Pediatric Emergency medicine. She has incredible bedside manner with our students and her attention to detail allows for intentional analysis, accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment planning.

Dr. Edith McCarthy
Dr. Edith McCarthy (aka Dr. Edie) has been caring for infants, children and adolescents for over 30 years as both a pediatrician and a neonatologist. She completed both her pediatric residency and neonatology fellowship training at The NY-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she stayed on as an Instructor of Pediatrics and Clinical Director of Child Protection, establishing the first Children's Advocacy Center of Manhattan. She then received a faculty appointment at NYU/Langone Hospital as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, serving as a Neonatologist in the NICU at both NYU and Bellevue Medical Centers. Recognizing that infants born prematurely or with complex medical or developmental needs required a higher level of pediatric care after leaving the NICU, and that the parents required more support and guidance as well, Dr. McCarthy established Care Intensive Pediatrics, the first private practice dedicated to the care of infants and children with complex medical or developmental needs, in a warm, nurturing environment.
After 7 years of providing comprehensive, concierge level care to a select number of families, her own family's needs brought her to Ridgewood NJ where she and her husband raised their 2 daughters and stepson. Dr. McCarthy then worked as a pediatric hospitalist at The Valley Hospital and completed a fellowship in Pediatric Urgent Care to work at PM Pediatrics.
Most recently, Dr. Edie served as the pediatrician for underprivileged, often uninsured children in under-served areas of NJ including Paterson, Passaic, and Jersey City through Full Service Community Health Clinics. Dr. McCarthy loves kids (especially babies), and as a mother herself tries to be a supportive, informative resource to the parents of her patients. Her calm, warm demeanor helps parents and patients alike to get through sometimes stressful moments in a child's life, like getting vaccines. Dr. McCarthy's mission is to provide attentive, detail-oriented, compassionately informed care to all of her patients.
Our team is very lucky and excited to have these doctors join us! Make sure to enroll your student into the Full-Service Community School Health Center so they can be treated by three of the best in Pediataric healthcare!
