Mejrem (May) Murtis, LAC

Hi everyone! My name is Mejrem Murtis. I am a licensed associate counselor and a recent graduate from William Paterson University’s Masters Program of mental health counseling. I spent the majority of my life living near Paterson, and know firsthand the importance of mental health services being provided to the students in this area. Working for FSCS brings me great joy. Having colleagues who also share similar passions and goals brings me peace. I like to incorporate different theories in my counseling style such as psychodynamic, CBT, and existentialism. I am also a huge fan of attachment theory and like to focus on the importance of childhood attachment and how it presents in children’s lives. My mission is to be an advocate, a support, and a safe space for students in School 16 and Eastside High School. Grateful to be part of the team here at FSCS!
