Rose Marie 'Rosie' Barbalace, LCSW
My name is Rosemarie, and I am a bilingual social worker and yoga instructor. Originally from Paterson, I have worked with families in Paterson, Passaic, and NYC since 2017. I am passionate about mindfulness, yoga, and providing therapy in a way that is accessible for all. I come from a multicultural background, and I use an eclectic and culturally competent perspective in guiding my practice. I was an intern at FSCS and after graduating from Columbia University School of Social Work in 2019, I’m back! I will be spending time at the Napier Academy. and supervising MSW interns. I am thrilled to be back and looking forward to a fantastic school year.

Jennifer Hutchinson, LCSW

Jennifer Hutchinson received her Master of Social Work from Fordham University. Jennifer worked as an intern for the Full-Service Community Health Center during the 2014-15 school year and is thrilled to be rejoining the community in 2016 as a social worker. Jennifer will be spending most of her time at school 15 and the New Roberto Clemente! She is looking forward to a productive and meaningful year for everyone.

I am licensed as a Psychologist in several states including New Jersey and New York, with over 20 years of direct counseling and therapeutic experience with individuals of all ages and families. In addition to continuing my therapeutic services in vocational and individual counseling, I administer psychological evaluations and vocational assessments. In order to keep myself abreast of the most current academic advances in the field of psychology, I serve as an Adjunct Faculty Member in higher education in New York City and supervise graduate level Mental Health Counseling students.
Tara Sym, LCSW

​Hi, my name is Tara Sym and I am a licensed clinical social worker. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Pennsylvania and my Master’s from Hunter College School of Social Work. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in mental health facilities, school-based programs, and private practice settings. I am trained in many evidence-based interventions, and incorporate concrete skill development and self-care strategies to help you feel better. I also use mindfulness to bring awareness and self-compassion to your life experiences. Our work together will incorporate your unique skills and personal beliefs in the therapeutic process. My approach to treatment is upbeat, compassionate, and solution-focused. I am excited to be working in the behavioral health center at JFK High School this year!
Mejrem (May) Murtis, LAC

​Hi everyone! My name is Mejrem Murtis. I am a licensed associate counselor and a recent graduate from William Paterson University’s Masters Program of mental health counseling. I spent the majority of my life living near Paterson, and know firsthand the importance of mental health services being provided to the students in this area. Working for FSCS brings me great joy. Having colleagues who also share similar passions and goals brings me peace. I like to incorporate different theories in my counseling style such as psychodynamic, CBT, and existentialism. I am also a huge fan of attachment theory and like to focus on the importance of childhood attachment and how it presents in children’s lives. My mission is to be an advocate, a support, and a safe space for students in School 16 and Eastside High School. Grateful to be part of the team here at FSCS!

Joslyn Camilo, LSW
​​Hello, my name is Joslyn Camilo and I am a Licensed Social Worker who is joining the Behavioral Health Team. I have experience teaching in school, clinical, and child welfare settings. My biggest passion is working with children and teens, and am excited to be here in the community of Paterson. I am also bilingual in Spanish and look forward to connecting with those from similar cultures. Always feel free to reach out if you need anything!

Justine Ruiz, LSW
​​Hello, my name is Justine Ruiz. I received my Undergraduate degree as well as my Master's degree in Social Work from Ramapo College of NJ. I previously was an intern at Full-Service Community Schools Health Center throughout the 2021 school year within School #4, SFL & #5. This year I will be working at The Joseph A. Taub School and School 5. I am excited to be joining this amazing team and look forward to being able to assist student and their families in the same city I grew up in.
Rebecca Bischoff, LCSW
Hi, my name is Rebecca Bischoff and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have a Master’s from Fordham University in Clinical Social Work. I have experience working with children, teens, and adults in outpatient centers, inpatient treatment, school-based programs, and private practice. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques and trauma informed care. I have a warm, compassionate and non judgemental approach and set individualized goals with my clients to meet their needs and improve their functioning. I look forward to working in School 2 in Paterson and School 23 in Jersey City this school year!
