NRC Celebrates Earth Day with Hands-On Science

Celebrating Earth Day, students at New Roberto Clemente School engaged in a hands-on science project, germinating and planting pinto bean seeds. Full Service Community Schools sponsored the event, giving students the opportunity to explore the early stages of seedlings, as well as learning the conditions necessary to sustain plant growth—water, air, and warmth.

According to Treatment Coordinator, Diana Claudia, students were able to plant and germinate their seeds, ultimately replanting the seedlings into the school’s flower beds on April 22, Earth Day.

The germination project served as a reminder to the students of the responsibility of all to protect and sustain the resources of the planet.
