218 backpacks were given away to Paterson students, as well as nearby town students, on August 30 at an “Angels Over Me” event in Pennington Park, Paterson. FSCS Treatment Coordinator at School 10, Paterson, Maria Ruiz, created the organization in 2020 in honor of her father.
According to Maria, the event that gave away backpacks and school supplies was a huge success. The day included a fire truck, ice cream truck, face painting, tattoos, and balloon animals that the children could adopt with a certificate. 2 tablets were also raffled off to two lucky students! Maria was thrilled that 20 students from her School 10 Health Center were also present.
An FSCS table was also set up to apprise parents of the FSCS Health Centers at various Paterson Schools.
Also volunteering from FSCS were Glenny Vasquez, Laura Dever, Dr. Edie McCarthy, Kellie Trellis, and Diana Claudio.
Thank you FSCS Maria Ruiz for a wonderful day and a beautiful organization!
