Students at Rev. Dr. Frank Napier, Jr. School of Science and Technology learned the fundamentals of MyPlate and the importance of food groups at a "MyPlate" event on November 3. Considering the health qualities of fruits, vegetables, protein, dairy, and grains, students were able to identify foods and place them in the correct group after the
lesson.
Learning food groups helps students create a well-balanced meal at home and school! This important event was lead by FSCS nutritionist, Kelli Petit and Treatment Coordinator, Victoria Vargas.

I really liked the way the article explains how students learned about the different food groups at the MyPlate event because it shows how eating healthy starts with simple lessons like fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, and dairy. That made me think of my own school activity where I wrote a short story for class and worked on Book Cover Design to make the front page look better before sharing it with my friends. It reminded me how creativity can make learning more fun.
